Our Projects

Project: memorial place in Röcken - Since 1994 exists a provisional museum in the rather poorly improved stable beside the parsonage. A heating (!), a place for a library, showcases for an adequate exhibition and a computer with Internet link are missing. The memorial place, which is the result of the enthusiasm of some friends of Röcken (the former minister Kant, Ralf Eichberg of the Nietzsche Society, mayor Winter and Mrs. Thamm), will be properly improved in the year 2001. The former stable has to be drained, a heating will be installed and the attic will be developed into 2 rooms, for a library among other things. The municipality and the church as the owners has to pay 32.000 DM, 10% of total costs.

Project: memorial tablets in Leipzig - Friedrich Nietzsche spent important years of his life in Leipzig. Here he has his first success as an philologist, here he read works of Arthur Schopenhauer. And in Leipzig he became acquainted with the composer Richard Wagner. Nothing in Leipzig reminds of it! The Friends of Röcken want to attach memorial tablets to the University of Leipzig and to houses, where Nietzsche was living. The text on the memorial tablets will directly refer to Röcken.

Project: Pobles - Pobles, near Röcken, is the birthplace of Friedrich Nietzsches mother. Here, with his grandfather the minister Oehler, he frequently spent his holidays. The state of the church is rather poorly. The grave of minister Oehler can only be visited by the risk of life. Friends of Röcken want to achieve some improvements here too. Also an memorial tablet can be placed at the parsonage.
